Custom pools for Fairfield and Westchester.

Shotcrete over half-inch rebar, built from Bridgeport since 1977.

Permits, timelines and a foreman named Edgar

Fairfield County and Westchester County, since 1977

All American gave us a timeline of each step along the process, so we knew what to expect and when. They did all the permits with the town, saving us an unwanted hassle.

A villa courtyard in a Bridgeport warehouse

The showroom inside the 25,000 square foot facility is built like a courtyard on the Amalfi coast, with working water features, finishes and lighting you can see run before anything is poured. It is the third step of every pool building process.

Seven phases, about 45 days in the ground

Before the dig, your project manager handles the design, the budget, the showroom visit and every town, wetland, conservation and architectural review meeting.

  1. Excavation

The crew stakes out the shape agreed at the pre-construction meeting and digs to the depths on the drawing.

After permits clear, usually 2 to 8 weeks

  2. Steel

    Forming and steel

Forms go in and the rebar cage is tied in half-inch steel, a size up from the 3/8 inch most builders use.

  3. Shell

    Concrete shell

Shotcrete from a 5000 to 6000 PSI mix is applied under pressure against the steel. This is the part the lifetime structural warranty covers.

  4. Tile

    Tile, coping and terrace

Waterline tile, coping and the terrace around the pool go on once the shell has cured.

  5. Finish

    Pool finish

The interior finish is applied and the pool is filled for the first time.

  6. Start-up

A service manager starts the equipment and walks you through how the pool runs.

  7. Service

The Service Department takes over. All American maintains over 90% of the pools it builds.

    Average build: about 45 days
